What is the Egoscue Method?

The Egoscue Method was created by Pete Egoscue through his efforts to find solutions for his own chronic pain. More than four decades ago, Egoscue returned from Vietnam with a Purple Heart and ongoing nerve pain due to wounds suffered in battle. Like many of us, Pete was conditioned to rely on medical experts, but they focused on his symptoms and were unable to help him. So Pete began his search for a way to live pain-free, finding the true cause of his symptoms—his posture and balance. Over the years, Pete developed hundreds of gentle exercises that—when done with proper form in the right sequence—can restore posture, eliminate chronic pain, and increase functional mobility.

Who is the Egoscue Method for?

The Egoscue Method is for anyone who is limited by chronic pain or a lack of functional mobility. The Method has helped thousands of people find alternatives to surgeries and injections.

What should I expect?

You’ll find Posture Correction therapy sessions are simple and relatively easy. They will present a gentle challenge but never cause pain or serious discomfort. We will start by taking a look at your posture and function to see what patterns need to be addressed. Then using the Egoscue Method, we will create a menu of exercises and stretches. I will lead you through these “e-cises” and give you the resources you need to continue with them at home.

Your success depends on your ability to commit to the process. After that, an open mind and comfortable clothes are all it takes.
